Let’s look at these four business hats so that you can go from being the one “doing” to being the person who is leading and creating the future direction of your company.
Hat 1: Technician
A technician uses equipment and is able to do the work like:
- Marketing copywriting
- Selling to prospective customers
- Delivery of either your service or product
- Participating in administration
- Making procedures and systems
As an entrepreneur, it is your responsibility to would like to grow your team and your business to be able to take it to a stage where you spend only five percent or less of the time in tech mode – talking to prospects, team members, customers to keep connected. You do this because you’d like to not just because you have to.
Hat 2: Manager
Managers are the ones in charge of the staff using their equipment. Management is about making sure that employees are given the right instructions guidance, direction, and accountability for doing the job right.
When you directly manage tasks such as projects, people, or even tasks and projects, you’re in management mode.
There are times where you have to go into the details just a bit but it’s optimal for your business and yourself to have experienced and knowledgeable managers overseeing the processes, people, and overall performance of the business. This way, you can concentrate on what you are good at.
Hat 3: Leader
A leader is one who can help people be naturally motivated to do their job.
Leadership is a distinct concept from management is a distinct thing from. Many business theories is attempting to combine the two, but in actual they have nothing in common.

Hat 4: Entrepreneur
Entrepreneurs create assets. The job and responsibilities of an entrepreneur are to establish a business and ensure that it is backed by adequate financing and a suitable team. Actually, it’s more difficult than what people believe.
The majority of SME (Small to Mid-sized Enterprise) owners in the current business world would like to get more engaged with their company, and not just wear the hat of an Entrepreneur. They also desire to be the Leader in order to influence and guide their company.
The ultimate goal of going from the business owner. And the business owner is an ongoing process that involves establishing.
